Farm Girl | by Francis Porretto Aug. 22, 2010 | 15517 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Francis W. Porretto was born in 1952. Things went steadily downhill from there. Fran is an engineer and fictioneer who lives on the east end of Long Island, New York. He's short, bald, homely, has bad acne and crooked teeth. His neighbors hold him personally responsible for the decline in local property values. His life is graced by one wife, two stepdaughters, three dogs, five cats, too many power tools to list, and an old ranch house furnished in Early Mesozoic style. His 12,000 volume (and growing) personal library is considered a major threat to the stability of the North American tectonic plate. Publishing industry professionals describe Fran's novels as "Unpublishable. Horrible, but unpublishable all the same." (They don't think much of his short stories, either.) He's thought of trying bribery, but isn't sure he can afford the $3.95. All Fran's fictions are free to whoever might care to read them. He's decided that, as long as he can have 1) readers, and 2) the privilege of referring to himself in the third person, he'll be happy to forgo the hope of revenue from his drivel. (He does, however, appreciate reviews and emails.) So enjoy, cost- and guilt-free, and let him know what you'd like to see more of...if anything. UPDATE 8/8/2010: A couple of readers have written to inquire about "hard copy" editions of Fran's books. As gratifying as such requests are, that would be a huge amount of effort and expense if only a handful of readers were interested in them. But if there are enough prospective purchasers -- the average price of a print-on-demand paperback is about $15.00 -- he'll look into it seriously, probably through Amazon's CreateSpace subsidiary. To express interest, just drop him a note at fwp@eternityroad.info, and mention which books you have in mind. If there are enough of you, he might even stop referring to himself in the third person! UPDATE 8/21/2010: For an external review of "Chosen One" by Martin McPhillips, author of the blockbuster thriller "Corpse In Armor," please go here: http://newpaltzjournal.com/?p=1978 For Martin's review of "On Broken Wings," please go here: http://newpaltzjournal.com/?p=1994 UPDATE 9/1/2010: In response to a quite unexpected volume of demand, Fran is currently at work on "Shadow Of A Sword," the sequel to "On Broken Wings" mentioned at the end of that novel. To those readers who've written to ask about it: It could take a while to complete, so please be patient. And thank you, most sincerely, for your enthusiasm for this saga. |

The Meat Market | by Ernest Winchester Aug. 19, 2010 | 896 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I must in all honesty, update this entry, for I stumbled onto the magic key to post a story on Smashwords. It was operator error not one of the poltergeist that I’m sure came preloaded in my computer that prevents me from getting what I want from it. For those of you who didn’t read this bio before—which I’m sure includes the rest of the world’s population—I repeat: I am an old man who loves to write. I started decades ago—the exact number is irrelevant—on a cast iron framed manual typewriter that would now serve little purpose beyond a boat anchor. I love composing fiction on the computer, mainly because of the spell check feature. Why someone who can’t spell worth a damn wants to write, I’ll never be able to explain. I take solace in the knowledge that some well-known writers throughout history were so afflicted. However, I must confess, that is about as far as I can go into this—to me—frightening world of cyberspace. I don’t have accounts on face book (wouldn’t touch it with a ten-foot pole. Almost nightly the news is filled with stories of people murdered by people they have contacted there.) I feel the same way about Myspace, a blog or personal web site. I don’t tweet or twit or what ever that is. That really seems silly--just call them and talk! So I’ll be contented to write and enjoy retirement until the final heartbeat or wayward city buss runs me over. |

| Author bio: A former courtesan and dancer, I do not share many details about myself with others. I prefer to share my writing, my sensuality, and my passions in the stories I bring to my readers. Please read my stories only if you enjoy traditional passion in erotic tales of the old style, without modern slang and vulgar terms. They are primarily quick reads for those odd few moments found for pleasurable reading. Due to much encouragement from several readers, I will be lengthening some of my stories and telling more of the story about my great-grandmother, Yolanda and her journey. Somewhere in time, she smiles at your interest. Thank you to everyone who leaves a comment or review. For mature audiences only, please. |

Prescription For Love | by Fiona McGier Jul. 06, 2010 | 56137 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I have been married to the man of my dreams for almost 30 years. We sit around the campfire these days and marvel at the 4 interesting adults sitting with us, who used to be our children. I am an unemployed English teacher who substitutes in local high schools, and scores standardized tests at night when called. I write contemporary erotic romance novels about strong, independent women who are busy living their lives. When they meet equally strong, independent men, the sparks fly! Sooner or later one or both of them realize they are meant to be together for the long-term, and the "dance of love" moves to a whole new level of seriousness. I write about women you might want to be friends with, or be; and men you will fall in love with...I always do! I write happily-ever-after endings, because I really believe they are possible...not easy, but achievable. And I write hot scenes between the heroine and hero because that's the way they tell me their stories in my head! I'm only the messenger! (grin). |

Of Lust and Love: Volume I of The Eroticon | by Lorel Simon Jun. 16, 2010 | 25968 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Fryderyka Lorelei Szymczyk (Lorel Simon) Jean Beauxreves Kotchio is my pen name. My parents, a German-Polish couple from Września, a Polish town halfway between Berlin and Warsaw, immigrated to the United States and are now naturalized citizens residing in the American Midwest. As my real name is unpronounceable by most Americans, I used Lorel Simon in my high school annual (Szymczyk means Simon in Polish). Known to my college chums as ‘Frisbee,’ I majored in languages and psychology, with a minor in film, at a women’s college in New England. I completed my MA and PhD in philology in Europe. (I must avoid providing specific place names relative to my antecedents in view of my current surreptitious research project.) I’ve always loved fairy tales. I spent several years collecting and editing the one hundred tales of lust and love for my Eroticon, which I offer as a salute to the one hundred novellas of Giovanni Boccaccio’s Decameron, which was first published in 1353. Currently I am living in a harem in the Middle East. I am among so many other concubines and dancing girls that I have ample leisure time to devote to preparing a similar tribute to Richard Burton’s translation of The Nights, the stories told by Scheherazade to Persian King Shahryar for one thousand and one nights. My harem buddies call me ‘Sherry’ because I like to tell stories from the Eroticon to the current king. I apologize for not furnishing a photograph, but anonymity is integral to my safety as an interloper in the king’s harem. To sustain my research, I necessarily dance and perform other personal services for the king and his associates. As I enjoy doing that, I make no apologies, though I am known to my Polish girlfriends, affectionately I believe, as ‘Dziwka.’ I smuggled this blurb out of the harem through a friendly eunuch, and I hope to do the same with the tales I is now collecting for my next publication, which I’m thinking of calling The Casting Couch. ■ |

| Author bio: I was born In Hull, Yorkshire, England in 1956. I started to write at the age of 44 in the year 2000, and I wasn't very good. I slowly learned over the years that followed, mainly from people online who gave up their time to help me. I chose to write imaginative things, and sometimes allowed my own imagination to get away from me. I started with erotic tales before going onto more serious stuff, although having said that my erotic stories have been popular. The first book I got published was "The Second Apprentice" followed closely by "The Talking Sword" both of which are sword and sorcerer type tales. My favorite release though was "Hell's Gate" but none of these three books have been downloaded yet and they're all available at Amazon. They just seem to want my erotic stories. lol I now live in America and have done for the past 5 years. As you can see from my photo I'm happily married and intend to stay that way. Carl |

Vampire Berserker | by Carl East May. 15, 2010 | 11055 words | Read a sample |
Carl |

Love for Sale | by Joe Brewster Apr. 26, 2010 | 3094 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Joe loves reading, writing and old movies. Vintage Film Noir and Hard-boiled Pulp Fiction are especially favorite genres mainly for the erotically charged characterizations of the Dames, Broads and Molls. Many of Joe's stories try to capture that hard-edged female attitude that naturally puts men in a less-than-equal or outright subservient position but in the context of Office Femdom Erotica rather than murder mystery. |
