Although I am currently happy and high functioning, I have had a long history of mental illness, including endogenous depression, bipolar disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder. My book "How to Be Free", for which I used the name Joe Blow, is an articulation of the ideas which have been useful to me in freeing myself from these conditions. If asked whether these ideas have provided me with a secure foundation for emotional stability, happiness and flowering creativity, I would reply, “Well, so far so good.” I also write humorous erotica under the pseudonym Aussiescribbler. In many ways my playful, irreverent and anarchic fiction is another form of expression of the approach to life I advocate in "How to Be Free".
