Boudoir Books, An Erotic Short Story | by Summer Ellis June 06, 2011 | 2462 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I live near the Gulf Coast of Texas with my amazing, new, hero-esque husband of one year, who inspires me more than he knows. We share a home with his bingo lovin' mama and I'm reluctantly becoming more and more charmed by his roley-poley, cantankerous chihuahua. In the beginning, I got started writing sexy, steamy short stories on a whim - just to see if I could do it. Then, as I realized that my imagination was expansive but my technique was on the short side, I started researching and honing my skills. Caught within the agonizing process of letting go to take the next step, I'm frantically 'building a platform' and putting myself out there. I've got a ways to go, but I love every minute of the journey! I love getting feedback and talking to people about my work (or theirs!) - so feel free to connect me online: http://summerellisbooks.com/ Thank you again for your support! |

| Author bio: Lizzie Lynn Lee was a guitarist, receptionist, executive assistant, tarot reader, boutique owner, and graphic artist before she discovered that writing is her dream job. She’s an incurable chatterbox, heavy metal aficionado, book worm, digital enthusiast and a night owl since most of her stories were done in the wee hours of the morning because of her caffeine-induced insomnia. These days she still plays her guitar whenever she gets bored staring at her computer’s screen or plotting the most elaborate scheme of world domination. On The Hood | by J. D. Carter May 19, 2011 | 2080 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Horror has always fascinated John. Words that seep into our minds and bring out our worst fears have a power all their own. Words also have the power to bring out our deepest, and sometimes darkest desires. For these reasons Mr. Carter loves writing in both genres, sometimes mixing the two. John was born and raised in the southeast United States and has always loved fiction. His aunt used to tell him stories of sewer monsters and children turning into cookies from eating too many (and people wonder why he is so disturbed). They inspired him to start writing his own stories and create his own worlds. these are the worlds he visits in his writing. |

Portrait of Bittersweet | by Severin Rossetti Dec. 27, 2010 | 1971 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Severin Rossetti was a teacher of fine art, but now works in a Liverpool museum/gallery, less money but a lot less stress. At the same time that he turned from teaching fine art, he also turned from its practice -have you seen the crap that passes for fine art these days?!?- to concentrate on writing. After many rejection slips he finally had some encouragement. 'Interesting,' said one editor, 'but it lacks passion. Spice it up a bit.' Which he did, only to be told 'wow!'... 'well!'... 'spiced up, yes, but we can't possibly publish this!' Fortunately, others could, with the result that his erotic stories have been published in the UK and the USA in various magazines and anthologies. Novels and short story collections have also been published in the US by Renaissance Ebooks.com. If the erotic genre is not your thing, however, please note that also available on Smashwords are more 'serious' works, some for sale but many for free. Strange, though, that the erotic genre is proving the most popular, and especially the free ones. So... a cry from the heart... feel free to try the free ones but PLEASE, also, splash out a dollar or two if you can afford it! And if you want to know any more, please contact the author at severinrossetti@aol.com |

Kissing cousins | by A.M. Gray Jan. 27, 2012 | 1955 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I started writing fanfiction a couple of years ago as mrstrentreznor. I thought it was a wonderful concept to take existing characters and flesh them out a little more. Or to write the scenes that didn’t get filmed or written in the original work. I have given away more than a million words on fanfic; but I discovered that I had a million more in my head. And they were my words, my characters and my stories. I am an overeducated Australian single mother. I feel I should be witty and informative about how many children and household pets I have, but really the chickens lay eggs and I am yet to see what use the teenagers are. I also read a lot and play my music loud... really loud. |

The Boss's Terms | by Ernest Winchester Aug. 18, 2010 | 1946 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I must in all honesty, update this entry, for I stumbled onto the magic key to post a story on Smashwords. It was operator error not one of the poltergeist that I’m sure came preloaded in my computer that prevents me from getting what I want from it. For those of you who didn’t read this bio before—which I’m sure includes the rest of the world’s population—I repeat: I am an old man who loves to write. I started decades ago—the exact number is irrelevant—on a cast iron framed manual typewriter that would now serve little purpose beyond a boat anchor. I love composing fiction on the computer, mainly because of the spell check feature. Why someone who can’t spell worth a damn wants to write, I’ll never be able to explain. I take solace in the knowledge that some well-known writers throughout history were so afflicted. However, I must confess, that is about as far as I can go into this—to me—frightening world of cyberspace. I don’t have accounts on face book (wouldn’t touch it with a ten-foot pole. Almost nightly the news is filled with stories of people murdered by people they have contacted there.) I feel the same way about Myspace, a blog or personal web site. I don’t tweet or twit or what ever that is. That really seems silly--just call them and talk! So I’ll be contented to write and enjoy retirement until the final heartbeat or wayward city buss runs me over. |
