| Author bio: Although I am currently happy and high functioning, I have had a long history of mental illness, including endogenous depression, bipolar disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder. My book "How to Be Free", for which I used the name Joe Blow, is an articulation of the ideas which have been useful to me in freeing myself from these conditions. If asked whether these ideas have provided me with a secure foundation for emotional stability, happiness and flowering creativity, I would reply, “Well, so far so good.†I also write humorous erotica under the pseudonym Aussiescribbler. In many ways my playful, irreverent and anarchic fiction is another form of expression of the approach to life I advocate in "How to Be Free". |

The Best Man | by Brandi Quick June 24, 2011 | 10443 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Brandi Quick is a pseudonym used for the author’s erotic romances. The author, who also writes in other genres, took early retirement from a business career and is now a full-time writer. Born and reared in Georgia several decades ago, the author’s life has been enriched by extensive travel and a variety of interesting jobs. Having a truly idiosyncratic family and a facility for getting to know distinctive people is all it takes to ensure the creation of engaging plots, unique characters, and enticing locations. Why a pseudonym? Because so much of the creative process is based in real-life experience, it could be indiscreet to use the author’s real name for this genre’s intimate details. |

Mouse Trap | by Sophie Duncan June 03, 2011 | 10592 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I also write with my sister under Tasha-and-Sophie Duncan, and for some of my adult fiction as A D Benedict. By day I am a project manager developing IT solutions for a large company in the South East of England. By night, you'll find me scribbling away at many a story that just won't leave me alone. I've been writing since I was a wee thing, and publishing since I discovered the internet in 1994 or so. So what do I write? Contemporary and urban fantasy have mainly been my playground, but I have done some real world settings as well. I do like mystery and have been reading (and watching) Agatha Christie since I was a child. I've also been known to do a bit of poetry. Style: I have been told I do angst well, so if you want your heartstrings twanged, or your tummy to tie in knots until the end, then I'm your gal. I am, however, a happy ending junkie, although I do throw a hint of realism in there sometimes as well. I like a few twists and turns on the way in some of my plots, although I have written my share of PWPs as well. I have to admit a small obsession with eyes: I believe they are the seat of beauty in a person, so I play with them in creature fic and use them for expression in others - personal hang up, sorry. Also, I have never met a cliché I didn't like and I am a firm believer that cliché is fine if you do it right. Writing is a passion and there's nothing better than writing for an audience. Any writer who says they don't care about feedback must have had an ego amputation :) If you life my scribbles, I'd be very glad to hear from you. |

I have had the honor of being compared to such writers as Ernest Hemingway, Robert Browning, James Patterson, and Tom Clancy, but without all the boring details. My subject matter spans from poetry to short stories to novels. I am the Owner of Writing With Power Publishing and yes I self publish. I want to be able to control my work and not sell out to big corperations who are just looking to make a fast buck. I am more interested in having readers than profit. For this reason ALL ebooks that I am able to publish via SMASHWORDS will be published at no charge to the reader. I ask that you pass on and share my books with others so that the word may spread. If you want a paper copy you can order directly from the printer, cutting out the middle man completely. The links are on my website. So again, welcome to my world, I hope you enjoy your stay. Now sit back, relax, and let the journey begin. In the infamous words of Snoopy, the Greatest Story Teller, “It was a dark and stormy night…†|

Brie's First Day of Submissive Training | by Red Phoenix March 08, 2012 | 12411 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I love romance and I love good sex. It is a healthy combination in real life. I want to write stories that touch on the ups and downs of lovers and the unique sexual experiences that make life a ton more fun. * Great sex hinges on the satisfaction of everyone involved. Sensual Erotica Series consists of stand alone scenarios to get you in "the mood", but they are also interconnected. Choose the situations you find alluring. I lovingly call the series "The Sexual Adventures of T&A." Follow the lives of Troy & Amy as they make their way in the world and hopefully back into each other's arms. The titillating quickies are written from either Troy or Amy's point of view so you get it both ways. ;) (In order) Loving Amy Boy Toys Bottoms Up Deeper, Baby! Taming Feral The Flame His Embrace Her Gift British Lover Secret Admirer The Quartet Thrilling Her Lover Mine Amy's Choice * The Keeper of the Wolf Clan is a novelette about a werewolf clan who practices the Bonding Ritual every full moon. Sexy...and taboo. Layla had a story to be told and she chose me to tell it. Enjoy! * In 9 Days - This sweet novelette is a coming of age story that centers on loving acceptance. Tessa finds Kevin Reese alluring despite the burns covering his body. * 9 Days and Counting - The sequel to In 9 Days delves into the emotional reunion of two longtime lovers. * Blissfully Snowbound - What happens when two people who aren't meant to be together (but are sexually attracted to one another) get snowed in for five days? A ton of sexy trouble ensues! * Blissfully in Love - Have you ever loved two men at the same time? The sequel to Blissfully Snowbound explores the loving relationship between one girl and two guys. * Brie's First Day of Submissive Training - A young woman finds out what she's been missing after Sir invites her to his Training Center for Submissives. * Brie Learns to Obey - The sequel to Brie’s First Day, the young lady learns about obedience and Sir’s intimate touch. * And Then He Saved Me - When a young girl tries to kill herself, a man of great character intervenes. * Play With Me at Noon - A desperate wife lives out her fantasies by taking five different men in five days. * Varick - A dark, sexy vampire story. The hero navigates the dangerous world he has been thrust into with lusty passion and heart. Check me out on Facebook or you can contact me through my email: Redphoenix69@live.com |

Pinochle or Strip Poker? | by Ernest Winchester May 25, 2011 | 12411 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: I must in all honesty, update this entry, for I stumbled onto the magic key to post a story on Smashwords. It was operator error not one of the poltergeist that I’m sure came preloaded in my computer that prevents me from getting what I want from it. For those of you who didn’t read this bio before—which I’m sure includes the rest of the world’s population—I repeat: I am an old man who loves to write. I started decades ago—the exact number is irrelevant—on a cast iron framed manual typewriter that would now serve little purpose beyond a boat anchor. I love composing fiction on the computer, mainly because of the spell check feature. Why someone who can’t spell worth a damn wants to write, I’ll never be able to explain. I take solace in the knowledge that some well-known writers throughout history were so afflicted. However, I must confess, that is about as far as I can go into this—to me—frightening world of cyberspace. I don’t have accounts on face book (wouldn’t touch it with a ten-foot pole. Almost nightly the news is filled with stories of people murdered by people they have contacted there.) I feel the same way about Myspace, a blog or personal web site. I don’t tweet or twit or what ever that is. That really seems silly--just call them and talk! So I’ll be contented to write and enjoy retirement until the final heartbeat or wayward city buss runs me over. |

| Author bio: Gillian Colbert discovered writing later in life, but is now addicted to words, syllables and phrases. She loves books and stories of all shapes, sizes and genres, but most of all Gillian loves to write about people overcoming their insecurities and finding their mate. After all, risk and passion are what make life worth living. In her spare time, Gillian is a mother and dog owner. Her two Pitbulls have proven to be a love story in and of themselves.
